Terms of Service

1.1 Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Prospyr at prospyr.ca (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Prospyr is operated by its sole founder based in Canada. By using this Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age.

1.2 What Prospyr Is — and Is Not

Prospyr is a financial education and calculation platform designed to help Canadian income investors track, model, and understand their dividend portfolios.

Prospyr is not a licensed financial advisor, broker, investment dealer, or financial institution. Nothing on this site — including calculator outputs, framework scores, or any content — constitutes licensed financial advice. All outputs are informational and educational only.

Always consult a qualified financial advisor, tax professional, or regulated investment advisor before making financial decisions.

1.3 Use of the Service

You agree to use Prospyr for lawful purposes only. You must not:

• • Use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation
• • Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or replicate Prospyr’s proprietary frameworks or tools
• • Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service by automated means without written permission
• • Interfere with the operation of the Service or attempt unauthorized access
• • Use the Service on behalf of any other person without their knowledge and consent

1.4 User Accounts (Current and Future)

Currently, Prospyr does not require account registration. All tools are available without login.

When user accounts are introduced in a future version of the Service, the following will apply:

• • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
• • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• • You must notify us immediately at hello@prospyr.ca if you believe your account has been compromised
• • Accounts may be suspended or terminated for violation of these Terms

When you create an account, you will be asked to accept the then-current version of these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Acceptance is logged and versioned as required by PIPEDA.

1.5 Data You Enter

When you voluntarily enter financial data into Prospyr’s tools — such as holdings, income targets, contribution room, or dividend history — you retain ownership of that data. Prospyr does not claim any rights to your personal financial information.

Currently (Phase 1), all calculator inputs are processed in your browser and are not stored on Prospyr’s servers. No account or backend is required.

When user accounts are introduced, data you choose to save will be stored in Prospyr’s database to power your personal dashboard and tools. Refer to the Privacy Policy section for full details.

1.6 Intellectual Property

All content, frameworks, tools, designs, logos, and written material on prospyr.ca are the property of Prospyr and are protected by applicable Canadian copyright and intellectual property law. This includes — but is not limited to:

• • The Coverage Ratio System (Fortress / Defended / At Risk / Broken)
• • The DRIP Engine Simulator and all associated outputs
• • The Income Snowball Tracker framework
• • All blog posts, guides, glossary entries, and calculator logic

You may share links to Prospyr content and reference Prospyr’s frameworks with appropriate attribution. You may not reproduce, republish, or commercialize Prospyr’s content or frameworks without prior written permission.

1.7 Affiliate Links and Third-Party Services

Prospyr may include affiliate links to third-party financial services, including but not limited to Wealthsimple and Questrade. If you open an account through one of these links, Prospyr may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.

Affiliate relationships do not influence Prospyr’s editorial assessments or calculator outputs. Prospyr only links to services it considers appropriate for Canadian income investors.

Prospyr is not responsible for the content, terms, or practices of any third-party website or service. Clicking an affiliate link takes you away from Prospyr — review the third party’s own terms before engaging.

1.8 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Canadian law:

• • Prospyr is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied
• • Prospyr does not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that outputs will be accurate for your specific financial situation
• • Prospyr shall not be liable for any financial loss, lost profits, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service
• • Prospyr’s total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to Prospyr in the 12 months preceding the claim (if any)

Some Canadian provincial laws do not permit certain exclusions of liability. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

1.9 Changes to These Terms

Prospyr may update these Terms from time to time. When material changes are made, we will:

• • Update the Effective Date and Version number at the top of this page
• • For registered users: send an email notification and present the updated Terms for re-acceptance at next login

Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

1.10 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and, to the extent applicable, the laws of the Province of Ontario, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

Privacy Policy

Prospyr is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

2.1 Who We Are

Prospyr (prospyr.ca) is a Canadian personal finance tools platform for income investors. We are operated by our sole founder based in Ontario, Canada. Our contact for privacy matters is hello@prospyr.ca.

2.2 What Information We Collect

From all visitors (no account required):

• • Usage and analytics data— We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymized data about how visitors use the site, including pages visited, time on page, device type, browser type, and approximate geographic location derived from IP address. IP addresses are processed by Google and are not stored directly by Prospyr.
• • Cookies— GA4 places cookies in your browser to distinguish visitors and track sessions. See Section 2.6 for details.

From newsletter subscribers (optional):

• • Email address— If you subscribe to the Prospyr Dividend Brief, your email address is collected and managed by Beehiiv, our newsletter platform. You can unsubscribe at any time.

From registered users (when accounts are available):

• • Account credentials— Email address and password (hashed and stored securely), or Google OAuth tokens if you sign in with Google
• • Profile information— Province of residence, annual income goal, and display name (optional)
• • Portfolio data you enter— Ticker symbols, share counts, account types (TFSA, RRSP, RDSP, etc.), broker names, purchase prices, and dividend data you voluntarily input
• • Transaction history— Buy, sell, and DRIP events you enter manually
• • Usage data— Logins, feature usage, and tool interactions

What we do not collect:

• • Bank account numbers, login credentials for any financial institution, or SIN (Social Insurance Number)
• • Payment card information (processed directly by Stripe — Prospyr never sees your card number)
• • Any data you do not voluntarily enter

2.3 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• • Operate and improve the Prospyr tools and calculators
• • Generate your personal dashboard, coverage ratio calculations, income projections, and DRIP analysis
• • Send the Prospyr Dividend Brief newsletter (subscribers only)
• • Send account-related notices (registered users only)
• • Measure site performance and understand how visitors use the Service via GA4
• • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising targeting. Prospyr does not use Google AdSense or run advertising.

2.4 Third-Party Services

Prospyr uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

2.5 Data Residency

Prospyr is a Canadian product. However, some third-party services we use may store or process data outside of Canada, including in the United States. When data is transferred outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of the country where it is processed.

PIPEDA permits such transfers provided appropriate safeguards are in place. We use only reputable services with established privacy programs.

2.6 Cookies

Prospyr uses cookies for the following purposes:

• • Analytics cookies (GA4)— Track how visitors navigate the site so we can improve it. These are set by Google Analytics.
• • Authentication cookies— Keep you logged in during a session (registered users only).
• • Preference cookies— Remember settings you’ve chosen.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features (including staying logged in) require cookies to function. By continuing to use Prospyr, you consent to the use of cookies as described here.

2.7 Your Rights Under PIPEDA

As a resident of Canada, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• • Right to access— You may request a copy of the personal information Prospyr holds about you
• • Right to correction— You may request that inaccurate information be corrected
• • Right to erasure— You may request deletion of your personal information. Registered users may delete their account at any time. Upon a verified deletion request, all personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days as required by PIPEDA.
• • Right to withdraw consent— You may withdraw consent for data collection where consent is the basis for collection (e.g., newsletter subscription). Withdrawing consent will not affect services that do not require it.
• • Right to challenge compliance— You may contact us to challenge our privacy practices

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@prospyr.ca. We will respond within 30 days as required by PIPEDA.

2.8 Data Retention

When a registered user requests account deletion, all portfolio data, transaction history, coverage ratio snapshots, DRIP records, and account information are permanently and irreversibly deleted within 30 days. This deletion cannot be undone.

2.9 Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

• • HTTPS encryption on all data in transit
• • Row-Level Security (RLS) on all database tables — your data is isolated from other users at the database level
• • Password hashing — we never store passwords in plain text
• • Access controls — only Prospyr’s operators can access the database, and only for the purposes described in this policy

No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@prospyr.ca.

2.10 Children

Prospyr is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us at hello@prospyr.ca and we will delete it promptly.

2.11 Email and CASL

If you subscribe to the Prospyr Dividend Brief, you provide implied consent to receive our newsletter. Every email includes a clear unsubscribe link. We comply with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

We do not purchase email lists. We do not send unsolicited commercial email.

2.12 Changes to This Policy

When we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will:

• • Update the Effective Date and Version number at the top of this page
• • For registered users: notify by email and request re-acceptance at next login

The version of this policy you accepted is logged against your account as required by PIPEDA. You can always view the current version here.
